After one month of release on Amazon Prime, Hotel Camarillo has had 2500 viewers (90% of the viewership is in the U.S.)
The viewership for this past week was the highest yet, so the film numbers are on the rise and it hasn’t peaked yet. Thank you to everyone who still supports Hotel Camarillo.
“Hotel Camarillo” is a 67 minute documentary focusing on paranormal investigations over the past 10 years at former Camarillo State Mental Hospital. Using a decade of archival footage, EVP, ITC, and photos along with new interviews with the investigators, “Hotel Camarillo” is the complete history of paranormal activity in the old abandoned buildings, some that no longer exist on the campus.
“Night Stalkers” is a paranormal documentary which follows Southern California paranormal investigators, and asks what drives them to hunt ghosts. Night Stalkers was shot in 2010 and 2011, and captures a unique time in Southern California where paranormal investigating was starting to grow. We learn the philosophies and techniques that ghost hunters use to communicte with the energies some call spirits.
Karen Rontowski recently sent me a great review of Hotel Camarillo! I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you, Karen!
“Hotel Camarillo is fantastic! I have watched a lot of paranormal shows and movies and this ranks right up there with the best of them. There is no lag time, it is pure entertainment. From the shocking horror of the past to the ghosts that remain, the presentation kept me locked in my seat. I certainly wasn’t expecting interviews with people who were treated there. They were fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time.
If you are an investigator or someone who just finds historical locations interesting this is a must see. Phenomenal job Wayne!

An unused interview segment with Stephen Franco of Santa Barbara Paranormal discussing various protection techniques that can be used before and after an investigation. Filmed on the campus of former Camarillo State Hospital.

Mr. Senate was featured in our documentary, “Hotel Camarillo”, which chronicled over 10 years of paranormal investigations at the former Camarillo State Mental Hospital.

A door opens on it’s own during a late night walk thru of one of Camarillo State Hospital’s haunted corridors.
Hotel Camarillo Outtakes: The “Lost” Stefan Brigati Interview
The ill-fated Stefan Brigati interview for Hotel Camarillo! Stefan was actually filmed for the documentary. However, I left a camera running on a second story landing that Stefan was speaking to as I filmed him from a lower angle. For some reason, the DSLR must have shut off immediately after I left it. We didn’t capture any footage at all of Stefan from that camera.
Hotel Camarillo Outtakes: Tom Durant
A few scenes of Tom Durant that were not used in the documentary, Hotel Camarillo.
Hotel Camarillo Outtakes: 3AM Paranormal
An unexpected visitor appears during an interview.
Hotel Camarillo Outtakes: Peter James and the Queen Mary
Paul Major discusses the late psychic Peter James and the Queen Mary.
We had a great year, a VERY successful run for HOTEL CAMARILLO since it was released in August 2014. It’s hard to believe that I began filming it in March 2012. I couldn’t imagine what the reaction would be if I wrote a “making of” HOTEL CAMARILLO book. All of the great positive reactions to the film, the wonderful people I’ve met, and the amazing investigations within the hallways of former Camarillo State Mental Hospital.
Right from the beginning of production, the documentary also unearthed the very worst in the paranormal field as well. Threatened legal actions by the self titled paranormal “elite”, sad individuals trying their hardest to shut down production multiple times for their own selfish drama soaked reasons, a D-list “paraceleb” issuing threats if we showed the documentary at Graber Con, and finally an attempt to plagiarize Hotel Camarillo by remaking it with the exact same material. A venture that has since imploded and blown away like so much desiccated canine fecal matter.
Below are the highlights from HOTEL CAMARILLO’s successful run:

Debby Constantino received a copy of Hotel Camarillo on February 25th, and said she would let me know what she thought of it as soon as she watched it. We had been talking for a couple years on Facebook Messenger. I only heard from Mark once during a 3-way phone call. I was helping them on an unrelated money matter.
On June 7th, (4 months later) I wrote to Debby again, asking if she had a chance to see the DVD. I didn’t hear anything until over a month later, July 19th. Debby apologized, and said she had gotten a job, and things had been rough. She promised she’d watch Hotel Camarillo that night after work. Then we talked about Cam, how much she loved investigating there, and EVP captured there.
And that was the last time I communicated with her.

Wow, what a great time we had at Hotel Camarillo’s fifth public screening at the California Institute of Abnormalarts February 26th! We had an awesome turnout, with a lively Q&A about the documentary at the end. Then The Rhythm Coffin took the stage, throwing Styrofoam heads into the crowd!
